Meursault "Cuvée Tête du Murger" 2006, Patrick Javillier

This is the top Meursault from the domaine and is a blend of Casse-Tête and Les Murgers. Having been impressed by the lower ranking Les Tillets 2006 I expected a lot from this top wine and wasn't disappointed. Powerful citrus aromas with a fragrant white flower bouquet of hawthorn and raspberry leaf. Really charming and suggesting more to come. The freshness of the wine has been preserved, an important vinification achievement in the warm 2006 vintage, resulting in excellent minerality, quality and excitement in the mouth. There is finesse and delicatesse. Absolutely delicious. Tasted at the Justerini & Brooks annual Burgundy tasting. The photo was taken on a hazy June day in 2005.
